Lavene Redden, 71, Riverton

Lavene Rayma Redden, 71, of Riverton, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at her home.

Born November 14, 1950 in Miami, Oklahoma, Rayma was the daughter of Arthur “Ott” Calvin and Lavene May (Reynolds) Smith. She had lived in Picher, Okla., until 2008 when she moved to Riverton. She graduated from Picher – Cardin High School with the class of 1968 She received an associate degree in Business from N.E.O A. & M. College in Miami, Okla.

Rayma had worked for Bowers Insurance Agency in Miami, Okla., First State Bank in Picher, Okla., N.E.O. A&M College Bookstore in Miami, Okla. and for Quapaw Nation Childcare Development Fund Program as Resource and Referral Assistant. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Baxter Springs.

Rayma was preceded in death by an infant son, Cody Jack Redden, son-in-law, Travis Gray, her parents, one brother, Arthur Daile Smith and one niece, Stacy Dawn Smith.

Rayma is survived by her husband Jack Redden of the home, daughters, Amy Gray of Columbus, and Rayma Phillips (husband Michael) of Webb City, Mo. and brother, Lyndell Smith of Bloomfield, New Mexico. Four grandchildren Macy Gray, Luke Gray, Halle Gray and Carly Phillips, and nephews and nieces Tink Smith (wife JoQuita) of Quapaw, Okla., Daile Duane Smith of Bloomfield, New Mexico and Lori Ward of Hartwell, Georgia also survive.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1 at Crossroads Christian Church in Baxter Springs. Reverend Cameron Woodring and Reverend Kyle Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, southwest of Columbus. Tink Smith, Michael Phillips, Jarrett Smith, Luke Gray, Garrett Peak and Justin Plott will serve as pallbearers.
