Approximately 20 cats and two dogs were forcibly removed from a Columbus house by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Health in July. Along with volunteers, KDA investigators Ben Lancaster, Sarah Washee, Chris Demel and Columbus officers seized the animals after serving a warrant on John Shelton at 421 West Pine in Columbus.
