Columbus City Police officer Gary Holt was recognized by Mayor Grant Spieth for his act of heroism on October 6, when he entered a burning building and helped a resident escape, possibly saving their life. Holt was the guest of honor at a City hosted luncheon on October 14 to recognize his actions. He was pre- sented a certificate of commendation at the City Council meeting on Monday evening.
