Charles William “Chuck” Minor

Charles William “Chuck” Minor, 67, of Oswego, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, in Pittsburg. Born November 6, 1955, in Parsons, Chuck was the son of Wanda Mae Wheat Minor and Billy Glen Minor. His father preceded him in death. Chuck was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Minor and Tom Minor.

Chuck and Becky Schultz were united in marriage October 16, 1980. They later divorced. Before retiring, Chuck worked as a journeyman pipefitter often working on the road and traveling the country.

An avid football fan, Chuck loved the Kansas City Chiefs almost as much as watching his grandson Durbie play linebacker for the Pittsburg State University Gorillas. Chuck was larger than life and everyone who loved him thought of him as the strongest person they knew. He loved to tinker and could fix almost anything, usually using one of the many treasures he brought home as spare parts. Chuck was a protector of those he loved, especially his kids and the grandkids who knew him as Poppy.

Doug is survived by his mother Wanda; two sisters, Marcia Thurmond and Karen Minor-Garza; two sons, Chad Teal (wife, Ronda), of Oswego and Charlie Minor (wife, Juli) of Carthage, Mo.; a daughter, Candi Adams (husband, Zach) of Girard. Fifteen grandchildren, Leighton, Lakyn, Lizzie, Lance, Sage, Jonny, Braiden, Cody, Tanner, Brycen, Max, Molly, Durbie, Mitch, Ranie; six great grandchildren; and his dog, Otis also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 21 at the Derfelt Funeral Home of Oswego. Reverend Geoff Buffalo will officiate. The Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck’s sons, grandsons and nephews Charlie Mercer, Spencer Basoco, and Alex Basoco.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home in Oswego.
