Raymond Charles Glaser 94, of Pittsburg, died 10:35 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2022 in Pittsburg following an illness. Born September 22, 1928, in Pittsburg, Raymond was the son of Raymond Carl and Vivian Ann (Marvin) Glaser. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools.
Raymond was later drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War. He married Melva Deane Miller in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death February 20, 2016. Raymond worked at Dickey Clay in Pittsburg. He later worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant before retiring in 1991. Raymond was of the Christian Faith. He was known as a mentor and influencer in the community; and was known to help others in need. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle and most of all his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his son Kelly Glaser and Elaine Guss of Pittsburg; brother Wayne Glaser (wife Sharon) of Cherokee. Grandchildren Rowdy Glaser (wife Alicia) of Cherokee, Lacy Aumann (husband Brandon) and Jenae Whistler both of Pittsburg; great-grandchildren Bryer Glaser, Bailey Glaser, Jamie Hoover, Blake Hoover, Austina Hawkins and Braxton Brown also survive.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepmother Imogene Glaser, sisters Patty Ann Glaser and Charlene Bower and brother-in-law Buck Bower.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday November 21 at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott. Pastor Daryl Gaddy will officiate. Military honors will be conducted following graveside services. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday November 20 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
