Regina M. (Jean) Plunkett, 97, of Columbus, died Sunday, December 11, 2022. Born June 26, 1925 in Kansas City, Jean was the daughter of Oscar F. and Marie Hoke. They preceded her in death. Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, George, sister Pearl Kohler and a son Greg Plunkett.
Jean and George Plunkett were united in marriage May 17, 1947. To this union were born two sons, Greg Plunkett and Doug Plunkett. Jean was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus. She participated in the Altar Society, Child Study Club, Home Culture Club, and Beta Sigma Phi Society. She took great pride in being a grandmother.
Jean is survived by a son Doug Plunkett, a daughterin- law Mary Plunkett, two grandsons Jess Plunkett and Jason Plunkett, and two grand daughters Allison Blake and Kristan Plunkett-Partlow. Six great grandsons, and one great granddaughter also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 16 in Park Cemetery in Columbus.
Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
