Juanita Williams, 73, Riverton

Juanita Ann Williams 73, of Riverton, died Monday, January 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Born August 20, 1949 in Watsonville, Calif., Juanita was the daughter of Dale and Georgianna (Atkison) Myers. They preceded her in death. Juanita was also preceded in death her brother, Johnny Lee Myers; two nieces, Christy Brooks, and Jana Bowin.

Juanita and Donnie Joe Williams were united in marriage August 9, 1968 at Neutral. He survives. She worked as a hair dresser for twenty years including the towns of Baxter Springs, Columbus and eventually owned her own salon in Riverton called Juanita’s Beauty Salon. She later went to work for the former St. John’s Hospital in medical records, before retiring in 2014. Juanita enjoyed painting, embroidery, sewing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Many remember her for her baking and cake decorating skills.

In addition to her husband, Donnie of the home, Juanita is survived by a son, Bryan Williams (wife Kimberly) of Columbus; daughter, RaDonna Garrett (husband Rya) of Quapaw, Okla.; a brother, Glen Myers (wife Dottie) of Galena; sisters, Barbara Myers, Lorna Fell (husband Darry) and Deanna Todhunter all of Baxter Springs; six grandchildren, Chase, Ashley, Codee, BreAwna, Clayton, and Rylee; four great grandchildren, Aleigha, Bella, Vivian, and Lincoln.

Family held a memorial service Thursday, January 12 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Baxter Springs. Pastor Shane Dotson officiated. Memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
