County health office electronic sign okayed

Fifty years ago the City of Columbus was known as the home of the most unusual highway signs. Though they had electric lights in town the electric wasn’t available along the roadways.

The Kammermeyer family developed a two layer metal sign with glass marbles embedded between the two layers. The exposed marbles reflected the headlights of cars making the signs readable at night.
