Five Mile Avenue east of Baxter Springs was scheduled to close yesterday (July 31) according to the Kansas Department of Transporation (KDOT).
During the closure a tie-in to the new alignment of U.S. 166 will be constructed. A new crossroad pipe will also be installed on the road.
Five Mile Avenue should reopen to traffic in three weeks, weather permitting.
