The 88th annual Weir Homecoming will kick-off Friday night with the traditional bean and chili feed in the city park at 5 p.m.
First held in 1935, the festivities have dwindled just as the community has in population.
However, the population blooms during homecoming as residents return to visit with friends and neighbors.
