Down the rocky path In between the forest trees

And running streams With snow on the ground.

Two adult deer run by Without a thought, they did not see me But in that instance

I stop My bike and I think that’s the first time

I’ve seen a deer. I then start to move

To the house I call dear To tell the people

I’ve seen deer for the first time As I thaw
