Cherokee County commissioners voted to give your taxpayer money away free to out-of-staters in a program you yourself are not eligible for.
The “Rural Opportunity Zone” is a program funded 50 percent by the county, 50 percent by the state, and 100 percent by you. Your taxpayer dollars will be redistributed to out-of-staters to subsidize their move into this county.
