Paula Marlene Woods, 69, of Crestline, died peacefully at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the Via Christi hospital in Pittsburg following a period of ill health.
Born June 21, 1952 in Oswego, Paula was the daughter of Adrian and Margaret (Walker) Woods. She attended grade school in Crestline and graduated from Columbus Unified High School. She obtained a specialist degree in education from Pittsburg State University and was a school counselor for twenty-eight years in the Joplin R-8 school district. She attended church in Crestline and loved the Lord.
Paula was an avid reader who loved people and loved life. She demonstrated compassion and was kind to all. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Paula is survived by her twin brothers; Lloyd and (Joyce) Woods of Baxter Springs and Floyd and (Dixie) Woods of Pittsburg along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Norma Darlene Woods and Nadine Wilson, two brothers; Donald Eugene Woods and Joe Dale Woods.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date. The family suggests condolences be sent to the Midland Crematory in Joplin, Mo. and memorials directed to the maintenance of the Sherman City, Cemetery
