Robert F. York, 88 of Galena, died Monday, August 30, 2021, in his home. Born February 27, 1933, in Joplin, Mo., Bob was the son of Walter and Nellie (Eddington) York. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Grangers
Bob proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was a Deacon at Lawton First Baptist Church and could be described as a very patient and caring man. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Roberta York in 1999; his second wife Betty Ross in 2019; a son Gene York; his parents and six siblings.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Julie Davidson; five grandchildren, Sarah Teo, Janet Crisler, Micah Davidson, Chris York, and Brad York; numerous great grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald York.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, at Lawton First Baptist Church in Lawton at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the start of services.
