Jane Kaster, Green Bay Wisc.

Jane Kaster, 82, of Green Bay Wisc., died peacefully at home August 30, 2021 , surrounded by her family.

Born September 20, 1938, in Neosho, Mo., Harriett Jane Harwick, the youngest of two children, was the daughter of Harry and Ann (Frazier) Harwick. Jane attended grade school and high school in Columbus. She then continued her education at Kansas State University graduating in 1960 where she was also a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority. After college, Jane taught fourth grade in Denver,

After college, Jane taught fourth grade in Denver, Colo. for two years. She then moved on to work for the State Department teaching Army dependents in Bad Kissingen, Germany. It was in Bad Kissingen where Jane met and married Lieutenant Joseph L. Kaster May 18, 1963.

Jane and Joe went on to live a well-traveled life together, with their children being born in Germany, Maryland and Kansas. They eventually settled down in Wisconsin after her husband convinced her that the winters were not so bad and she would love Kroll ‘s hamburgers. Neither of which were true.

Jane loved to decorate her own home and help others with theirs, always with the motto no lace curtains. Traveling, cooking and filling her home with family were some of her many joys in life. If you or your family ever fell ill, Jane’s world-famous chicken noodle soup and banana bread would soon be delivered to to your home still warm.

Jane is survived by her husband in marriage of 58 years, Joseph Kaster; their children David Kaster, Paul (Lisa) Kaster, Ann (Micheal) Rhodes and Lynn Kaster. Their grandchildren Janie, Maggie, Jack, Sophia, Merrick; sister Dorinda Hunt; nephews and nieces Al (Jo) Hunt, Jordy (Julie) Hunt, Betsy (Carlin) Dornbusch; and many grand-nephews and nieces also survive.

A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, September 25, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, in Green Bay, Wisc. followed by a brunch celebration. Visitation will commence at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m.
