John O’Hara

John T. O’Hara, Jr., 64, of Parsons, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at his home.

Born February 6, 1957, in Chicago, Ill., John Thom as O’Hara, Jr. was the son of John Thomas and Elizabeth Ellen (Schreuer) O’Hara. As a young boy, John moved with his family to Parsons, where he grew up. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1975.

John worked at Ray Products for over 30 years. He then worked at Calibrated Business Forms in Columbus then worked at Calibrated Business Forms in Columbus and then at Grandview Products for several years prior to his retirement.

A general tinkerer and jack of all trades, John enjoyed working on cars. He loved animals, especially dogs. He was also an avid Chiefs and Royals fan. In June 1987, John and Diana Campmier were united

John is survived by a son, Thomas R. O’Hara of Pittsburg and stepdaughter, Melissa LaRue-Peters (Angie) of Wichita; five brothers, Danny O’Hara (Brenda) of Crestline, Matt O’Hara (Julie) of St. Paul, Pat O’Hara of Pittsburg, Jimmy O’Hara of Joplin, Missouri and Chris O’Hara of Lakewood, Colorado; sisters, Beth Davis (Jerry) of Parsons, Kathleen O’Hara of Olathe, Marianne Jefferis (Darin) of Paola and Ellen O’Hara of Parsons,.

Following cremation, there will be a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 13, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Father Curtis Robertson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m., until service time.
