Melissa Jean Olds, 43 of Joplin, Mo., died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital following an illness. Born in Parsons, July 29, 1978, Melissa was the daughter of Bill and Gail Masterson. She had spent time living in Osage Beach, Mo. and had spent the last eight years in Joplin, Mo. She was united in marriage with James Olds October 31, 2013 in Galena. He survives. In addition to her husband, Melissa is survived by her father, Bill Masterson of Osage Beach, Mo.; her mother, Gail Masterson of Joplin, Mo.; brother, David Masterson (and sister-in-law Christie Masterson) of Phoenix, Ariz. ; and nephew, Jerad Masterson of Pittsburg.
