Alvin Lee Cook, Sr., 75 of Quapaw, Okla., died Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin, Mo.
Born May 7, 1946 in Stillwater, Okla., Alvin was the son of Sam and Anna Cook.
Alvin spent many years as a truck driver. He enjoyed cruising around in his 1955 Chevy truck and attending car shows.
Alvin and Carolyn Marie Gilmore were united in marriage February 6, 2013. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Alvin is survived by his mother, Anna Glenn of Miami, Okla.; two sons, Alvin Cook Jr. (wife Dora) and Terry Cook (wife Tara) of both of Wichita; daughter, Natalie England of Miami, Okla.; two brothers, Melvin Cook (wife Cindy) and Sam Cook (wife Ethel) both of Miami, Okla.; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Sam Cook; son, Amory Cook; step-daughter, Tracy Robinson. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday,
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 24, at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m., until 1:30 p.m., Monday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel.
