Leonard Donald “Big Don” Harris Jr., 48, lifelong resident of Weir, died Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital. Born July 1, 1973, Donald was the son of Leonard Donald Harris Sr. He was a graduate of Southeast High School where he excelled in football as well as other sports.
Donald worked 14 years at Superior Industries and spent time as a bouncer at several local bars. Donald also spent a lot of time working beside his father in their mechanic shop and playing guitar. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, sitting around a fire, electronics and spending time with family and friends.
Donald is survived by three sisters, Christina Krogen of Baxter Springs, Autumn Bowen of Frontenac and Meredith Harris of Overland Park; and three brothers, William “Bill” Harris of Weir, John “JB” Krogen Jr. of Frontenac and Justin Krogen of Arma, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his grandmother, Meredith Margaret Marie Harris, his father, Leonard Donald “Donnie” Harris Sr., stepmother, Teresa Marie (Taylor) Harris and sister Melissa Sue Uber. Cremation has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral
