Colleen Adeline Kienast Dixon, 82 of Loveland, Colo., died Saturday April 9, 2022. Born in Columbus, Colleen was the daughter of Leroy and Ethel Kienast. A graduate of Cherokee County Rural High School Colleen graduated as a Junior with the class of 1956. She was an excellent student, musician and Drum Major with the band.
After high school, Colleen married her sweetheart, David Lee Coldiron. Together they had two children David Leroy and Evelyn Marie.
Colleen’s next 20 years were devoted to her family and raising her children. The next chapter of her life took her to college and an accounting degree. Soon she embarked on a career with the Veterans Administration. Colleen remarried in 1981 to Art Dixon. She retired in 2002 as a Budget Analyst.
Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was loving, caring, and giving to all.
Colleen is survived by her son, David and daughter in law, Kirsten; daughter, Evelyn; grandchildren, David (Carly), Dylan (Vanessa), Darius, Adeline (Matt), and Cody. Eight great grandchildren, Wyatt, Landon, Bronson, Parker, Sienna, Sailor, Maximilian, and Cal; and her furry friends Star and Stripes also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 20, at the Columbus, Park Cemetery.
