Kathleen Elena “Katie” Gordon, 33 of Carl Junction, Mo. died at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. following an illness. Born June 1, 1988, in Fulda, Germany, Katie was the daughter of Douglas Wayne and Elizabeth (Dela Cruz) Combs. She had lived in Carl Junction, Mo. the past four years, but had lived most of her life in Galena.
Katie was a homemaker. She was a member of Empire Mission Church in Galena. She enjoyed making crafts and going camping at the river. Her kids were her life.
Katie and Albert D Gordon were united in marriage April 21, 2018 at Taylor, Michigan. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Katie is survived by seven sons, Joshua Thompson, Damien Gordon, Albert Gordon Jr., Darius Dunham, Kenian Evans, Elijah Gordon and Judeah Gordon; three daughters, Alexis Dunham, Elena Girard and Maddison Gordon, all of the home; her mother, Elizabeth Combs, of Neosho, Mo.; two brothers, Douglas Wayne Combs Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina and Shawn Girard, of Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Cecilia Ballard (Chris), Galena, Crystal E Girard (Samuel Allen), of Webb City, Mo., Lauren Hillis and Carolyn Girard, both of Detroit, Mich.; and Kody Evans, (father of Kenian and Elena), of Alba, Mo.
Katie was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Wayne Combs; her grandmother, Carolyn Girard and Nick Dunham (father of Alexis and Darius).
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at Derfelt Funeral Home, in Galena.
The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Brad Price will be the Eulogist.
