Alice Jean Huff, 48 of Baxter Springs, died at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Mo. Born January 16, 1974 in Webb City, Mo., Alice was the daughter of Warren Allen Huff and Wilma Jean Reffett. She had lived in Baxter Springs all of her life, except a short period of time in Clinton, Mo. She attended Baxter Springs Schools. In her free time, Alice enjoyed listening to her music and frequenting the area casinos. She loved playing with her grandkids.
Alice is survived by her children, Bradley Shoemaker of Baxter Springs, Dana Shoemaker of Galena, Sheila Florence of Pittsburg and Christopher Huff of Asbury, Mo; and her significant other, Jodie Shoemaker of Baxter Springs. Her brothers, Sam Reffett of Wichita, Russell Huff (wife, Michelle) of Commerce, Okla., Ricky Huff amd Leo Huff (wife, June) both of Clinton, MO, Johnnie Reffett (wife, Shanna) of Seneca, Mo. and Amos Reffett (wife, Jeannie) of Fairview, Mo.; sisters, Mary Reffett of Baxter Springs, Regina Lake (husband, Glenn) of Galena, Levena Huff, Donna Reed of Clinton, Mo. and Angie McWilliams (husband, Jeremy) of Baytown, Texas; as well as six grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Wilma; brother, Dale Huff; her maternal grandparents, Russell and Lola Sanders; and her step-dad, John Reffett.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 21, at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, in rural Baxter Springs. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on the same day as the service, beginning at Noon until the time of service.
