Barney Jim Castagno, Sr., 86, of Weir, died Sunday March 6, 2022 ,at his home. Born January 31, 1936, in Hallowell, Barney was the son of Batista and Sarah Castagno. They preceded him in death. Barney was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Barney and Wanda Lee Eby were united in marriage December 6, 1958. She survives.
Barney was a farmer, tinkerer and welder A loving husband, father and grandfather Barney will be miss by all. He served two years in the United States Army. He they worked at Clemens Coal Company for 20 years before retiring.
In addition to his wife, Barney is survived by a daughter Sandra Brown, (husband John); sons Barney Castagno Jr. and David Castagno, (wife Connie); eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and his sister Fileda Cole.
