Beulah M. Olson, 96, of Oswego and formerly of Chetopa, died at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Oswego Health and Rehab.
Born December 1, 1925, in Terlton, Okla., Beulah May was the daughter of Ira Lawrence and Martha Elsie (Schulze) Sharp. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in Oilton and Vinita, Oklahoma, until moving with her family to rural Chetopa, where she attended country schools.
Beulah and Ross Jesse Olson were united in marriage September 27, 1940 at Cassville, Missouri. After getting married, the couple established their home in Chetopa. Beulah worked for Canard’s Pecan Company for 42 years, retiring at age 82.
Beulah attended the First Baptist Church of Chetopa. Her family was the center of her life. She also loved the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. Cross-stitch and solving crossword puzzles were also favorite past times.
Beulah is survived by sons Marvin Olson (wife, Nettie) and Ronnie Olson both of Chetopa. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-great-grandchild along with two nieces survive.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Olson October 21, 1988; a son, Gary Olson; and brother, Melvin Sharp.
A graveside service for Beulah Olson was held Thursday, September 29, at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Chetopa.
