Brenda Jean Evans, 72, of Parsons, died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at her home following an illness. Born June 8, 1949 in Independence, Mo.. Brenda was the daughter of Orville and Lena Jean (Winegar) Snyder. Her husband, Ned James Evans preceded her in death.
Brenda worked several years as a home health aide. She had earlier worked as a beautician and had been a licensed EMT. She was formerly the mayor of Labette City.
Brenda is survived by a son, Ned James Evans Jr (Gabrielle), of Oswego; one daughter, Wendy Jean Jones, of Parsons, six grandchildren, Destiny Jones, Dalton Jones, Miranda Neal (Clark), Taylor Schulteis (Ryan), Marlee Evans, and Sami Houghton (AJ); and four great-grandchildren, Payzlie, Sayge, Leonidas and A’Riyah Jones. A Celebration of life will be at Brenda’s home in Labette City July 31 at 12 p.m
