David Richard Boyes, 70, died October 26, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Joplin Health and Rehab, of Joplin, Mo. following an illness
Ḃorn February 28, 1951 in Joplin, Mo. David was the son of Jack and Colleen (Swain) Boyes. He grew up in Galena,. He was a graduate of Galena High School with the class of 1969.
David worked as an independent truck driver for a number of years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, motocross and driving sprint cars. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.
David is survived by his father, Jack Boyes and his brother, Darrell Boyes (Darlene), both of Galena; six children, Colby Boyes, (Shannon), of Carl Junction, Mo., David Boyes ((Brianna) and Marla England (Dale) both of Neosho, Mo., Jessica Hudson, Branson, Mo., Davin Boyes (Kelly), of Kansas City, Mo. and Melanie Rhinehart (Brandon), of Oklahoma City Okla. Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen Boyes.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 1, at Derfelt Funeral Home, in Galena.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Galena. Pastor Aaron Polok will officiate.
