Dianna Lynn Atkins, 59, of Arma, died at 4:14 a.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Freeman West, in Joplin, Mo. following an illness. Born August 5, 1962, in Baxter Springs, Dianna was the daughter of Franklin D and Rosemary Joyce (Lamb) Ray. They preceded her in death. Dianna was also preceded in death by an infant son, Gabriel and a sister, Kandi Martin.
She had lived in the Four State region all of her life.
A caretaker and nurse, Dianna had worked several years at Guest Home Estates in Pittsburg. She enjoyed stay vacations, country road driving, gardening and caring for her fur babies. Her greatest joy was being with her kids and grandchildren.
Dianna and Ricky Dale Atkins were united in marriage August 14, 1978, in Columbus. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Dianna is survived by two sons, Ricky Dale Atkins (wife, Mandie), of Girard and Phillip Atkins (wife, Amber), of Arma; a brother, Randy McDaniels, of The Village, Fla.; three sisters, Rhonda McDaniels and Tammie Benham (husband, Charlie), both of Pittsburg and Renee McDaniels Stockton (husband, Rick), of Joplin, Mo. Five grandchildren, Austin Atkins, Rosemary Atkins, Kalib Johnston, Kayla Johnston, and Laura Milliner (husband, Michael) also survive.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Derfelt Funeral Home, in Galena.
