Edna Mae Feurt, 73, of Galena, at 2:53 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born November 25, 1948 in Julesburg, Colorado, Edna was the daughter of Harold and Bessie (Richtner) Allen. She had lived in Galena the past 22 years, moving from Denver Colorado.
Edna retired in 1994 from Sigmonds Meat Company as a USDA Food Grader. She was a devout Christian. Her favorite pastimes were reading, watching movies, scrolling facebook and spending time with her family and friends.
Edna and Ross Fuert were united in marriage December 16, 1967 in Ogallala, Nebraska. He preceded her in death October 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her father -in-law, Ross Warren Feurt, mother-in-law, Helen Feurt and one brother, Lawrence Allen.
Edna is survived by a son, Troy Feurt, (Selena) and daughter, Misty Grimes (Patrick), both of Galena; two sisters, Doris Wilson, Ogallala, Neb. and Barbara Cotton, Denver, Colo. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Edna (Mae) Feurt was an amazing prayer warrior and faithful woman of God. She imparted her wisdom and humbleness in every person she knew. Devoted to her family, she instilled her values of family and God in everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was blessed to have two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
There will not be a service held as she did not want anyone to cry for her. A celebration of life is planned for the spring near her family in Nebraska.
