Eric Hughes, 55, Tulsa, Okla.

Eric Williamson Hughes, 55, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Baxter Springs died unexpectedly March 28, 2022, at his home.

Born December 21, 1966, Eric was the son of Tom and Mary Lou Williamson. He grew up in Baxter Springs and graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1985.

Later, Eric attended Missouri Southern State University for a short time before entering the workforce. Eric spent the majority of his career working for American Airlines. There were many things that Eric loved in life, like flying, traveling, fishing, motorcycles, the Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with his friends and family. Eric’s greatest love, though, was for his daughter.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Helene Hughes of Farmington, New Mexico; his brother, Bill Hughes (wife Linda) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his nephew, Thomas Hughes (wife Bailey) of Nixa, Missouri; his aunt Judy Hughes of Baxter Springs; cousins Robin, Scott and Jacob Robinette of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and cousins John, Kayci, Brayden, and Ellyce Hughes of Jenks, Oklahoma.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Williamson of Baxter Springs; his father, Tom Williamson of Miami, Oklahoma; his grandparents John and Julie Hughes of Baxter Springs and Ernest and Edna Williamson of Miami, Oklahoma; and his uncle, Bill Hughes of Baxter Springs.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. June 11, at the TWU Local 514 Union Hall at 11945 E Pine St, in Tulsa, Okla.
