Jerry Lee Judy, 78, of Columbus died Monday December 5, 2022. Born July 27, 1944, in Prairie Grove, Ark. Jerry was the son of Clyde and Brunetta Judy. They preceded him in death. Jerry was also preceded in death by brothers Basil Judy and Bill Judy, a sister Bruna Adamson (Judy) and granddaughter Chelsea Judy.
When Jerry was a child his family relocated to Columbus, and he made his life there. He attended Columbus schools. Jerry knew that the best parts of life are found in the simple things. He didn’t know a stranger anywhere he went. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and he loved competing at the tractor pulls. He frequented the local diner and loved to socialize and dance at the VFW.
Jerry is survived by his children, Troy Judy of Columbus, Jennifer Ervin (Judy) of Carl Junction, Mo., Jaime (Judy) Gartman (Ryan Gartman) of Lamar, Mo.; and brother Ron Judy of Columbus. Grandchildren, Brycen Judy of Columbus, Kade Ervin of Joplin, Mo., Kinley Ervin of Carl Junction, Mo. and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 7, 2023 beginning at 3 p.m. at VFW Post 1372 in Columbus.
