John Edward Corley, 86 of Grove, Okla., died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Born December 16, 1934, in Parsons, John was the son of William Corley and Alta Fern (Heaney) Corley. John attended grade school in Columbus. He was a graduate of Joplin High School.
After high school John attended Joplin Junior College and Pittsburg State University. John owned and operated Ramsay’s Department Store in Grove, Okla. for many years. He had previously owned and operated Ramsay’s in Pittsburg where he had worked since 1959.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was also a member of First Christian Church of Joplin, Mo.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Small; brother, Bob Corley and niece, Candy Livengood.
John is survived by his husband, Donald Willard, his companion of over 40 years; nieces, Sandy Small and Shelle Vail; and many extended family and friends.
No formal services are planned at this time. John’s final resting place will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
