John Leroy Sullivan

John Leroy Sullivan, 64, of Scammon, died Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. Born May 23, 1958, in Joplin, Mo., John was the son of John Aaron and Josephine Jane (Golden) Sullivan. John was preceded in death by his father.

Johnny was a high school graduate from Wyandotte High in Wyandotte, Okla. He worked as a Chef for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, music and visiting family and friends. He loved living the grand lake life and raising his children there.

John and Cathy Austin were united in marriage January 7, 1978, at Miami, Okla. She resides at their home in Scammon. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and constant teasing. One of his greatest joys in life was becoming a Papa. His granddaughters will always cherish the memories of getting to take a ride on papa’s scooter chair.

In addition to his wife Cathy of the home, John is survived by his mother, Josephine Sullivan; four children; Kandice Peak, (husband Kevin) of Scammon, Shasta Littlefield (husband Jeremy) of Afton, Okla., Jen Sullivan-Halloran of Bartlesville, Okla. and Joe Sullivan (wife Courtney) of Jones, Okla. Six grandchildren; Keira Littlefield, Cadence Sullivan, Ally Sullivan, Taylor Halloran, Kaitlyn Peak, Ella Littlefield; brother, James Sullivan of Wyandotte, Okla.; two sisters; Carol Arnold (husband Charly) of Wyandotte, Okla., Cindy Hord (husband Dan) of Joplin, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and friends, beloved pet Ruby and Kitty Kitty also survive.
