Joyce Rader, 82, of Galena, died Friday, April 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. Her loved ones are deeply saddened by the loss of such an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Born November 21, 1940, Joyce was the daughter of Thelma and Charles Couch. She grew up in Hockerville, Oklahoma where she spent most of her childhood having fun with her three sisters and neighborhood friends. Later in life, Joyce had two daughters: Kathy Rotert and Vickie Locke, both of whom she leaves behind. She would consider her daughters her biggest blessing, as they were the start of the big family she loved so much.
Joyce, being the family-oriented person she was, always spending her time with her daughters and later, her grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. All of them have fond memories of her, ranging from family trips to sleepovers to phone calls on their birthdays. Joyce, also known as “Meme”, was someone who had a knack for making everyone feel special and cared for. You would never leave her house with an empty heart or an empty stomach. “
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Kathy Rotert (husband Lou), Vickie Locke (husband Darren), grandkids; Stacie Perry(Steve), Charlene Weaver(Danny), Sandie Flowers(Dennis), Gary Hall(Sarah), Leslie Heier(Benton), Joshua Locke, Jetta Walker(Cliff), Shaun Locke, and her 23 great grand kids, and 6 great great grandkids.
