Julia Ann (Doyle) Rowan, 61 of Carl Junction, Mo., died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital following a hard-fought battle with COVID.
Born September 8, 1959, in Joplin, Mo., Julia was the daughter of Robert Doyle and Orissa (Gayler) Doyle. She graduated from Memorial High School with the Class of 1977.
Julia and Mark Douglas Rowan were united in marriage April 14, 1978 at Joplin, Mo.. Together they lived in Joplin and eventually Carl Junction where they raised their son, Kyle. Julie was a loving and joyful soul who loved her family immensely, her wonderful friends, laughing until she cried, animals and especially her pets and taking care of an array of flowers and plants at her home.
Julia’s husband Mark preceded her in death several weeks prior, on July 16, 2021, Julie described him as her “angel waiting on the other side.” She was also preceded in death by her mother, Orissa Doyle.
Julia is survived by her son, Kyle Rowan (wife Kate) of Kansas City, Mo.; her father, Bob Doyle of Joplin, Mo.; and two sisters, Angie Minshall (husband, Steve), and Cindy Lawson (husband, Doug).
A joint memorial visitation for Julie and Mark will be held Saturday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the family home at 9025 County Road 300, Carl Junction, Mo. Upon the conclusion of the visitation, friends will be invited to follow in procession to Carl Junction City Cemetery where there will be a memorial graveside service beginning at 12 p.m.
