Kevan L. Kinser, 77, Edna died surrounded by his loving family the afternoon of Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Born September 20, 1946, Kinser in Miami, Oklahoma, Kevan was the son of to Adrain and Virginia (Wilmoth). As a young boy, he moved with his family to Kansas. He attended several rural one-room grade schools in Labette County. In 1964, he graduated from Labette County Community High School. Following high school, he attended Labette Community College for a time. He also served in the Army National Guard.

He turned his love for automotives into a profession. After being a cross country trucker, Kevan started his own mechanic and wrecker business. For over 30 years, he was a car hauler, which he did until retirement.

Throughout the years, Kevan was a member of the Edna Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion. He attended Elm Christian Church.

He always had a project car in the works, using his talent and knowledge to build and show hot rod cars. He liked to race circle track cars and race motorcycles. Watching Indy races was also a favorite pastime. An avid Star Trek fan, he enjoyed watching anything Star Trek. His greatest love was his family, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play basketball and baseball.

Kevan and Aletta Diane Reno were united in marriage in Vinita, Oklahoma December 26, 1968. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ginger Stanley.

Additional survivors include two sons Robert Kinser of Edna and Richard Kinser and his wife, Lisa, of New Franklin, Missouri; Five grandchildren Desmond Kinser and his wife, Victoria, of Edna, Chelsie Wulf and her husband, Chance, of Chetopa, Devin Smith and his wife, Delfina, of Parsons Cora Kinser and Henry Kinser both of New Franklin, Missouri; Six great-grandchildren Kurtis, Saphira and Shiva Kinser of Edna, Shakur Smith of Parsons, Mila and Marvin Wulf with a sibling on the way, of Chetopa; Brother Gary Kinser and his wife, Pam, of Edna, sister Carol Swiger and her husband, Brian, of Coffeyville; Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 19, at Edna Elm Grove Cemetery in Edna.
