Lorene Brannin, 85, of Oswego, died at 9:15 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2021 at her home. Born March 3, 1936 in Cherokee County, Lorene was the daughter of James E and Marie Ruth (Stapleton) Casey. Lorene was a longtime resident of Oswego.
Lorene earned an Associate of Business degree at Coffeyville Community College. She then worked the majority of her career as an Administrative Assistant at Day and Zimmerman until her retirement in 2002.
Lorene was an active member of First Baptist Church in Oswego where she sang in the choir. She had also served on the Board of Directors of ABC-CR and was an officer in ABW-CR. Her favorite pastimes were quilting, crocheting and twilling.
Lorene and Chester L Brannin were united in marriage April 29, 1962 iat Miami, Okla. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Lorene is survived by three daughters, Diane (David) Dreyer, of Burlingame, Denise (Dennis) Castiglia, of Garden City, Mo. and Debbie (Russell Kirk) Valentine, of Hot Springs Village, Ark. Her sister, Gayla Jackson, of Baxter Springs, along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Levi Casey, three sisters, Ava Casey, Ersie Strickland, and Pauline Huneycutt.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, at First Baptist Church, in Oswego.. Pastor Jim Irwin will officiate. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery immediately following the service.”
