Mary Jane Lawrence, 75 of Scammon, died January 15, 2022 at 6:20 a.m. at her daughter’s home in West Mineral with her daughter by her side. Born February 3, 1946, Mary was the daughter of Edward and Della Dotson. She was the oldest girl of eight children. Mary married the love
Mary married the love of her life John Lawrence September 17, 1962. John preceded her in death October 1, 1993.
Mary is survived by her two brothers Virgil (Anette) Dotson, Bob Dotson and one sister Carolyn Earl, three kids: Wayne and Melinda Lawrence of Columbus, Kim and Melissa Lawrence of Scammon and Teresa and Bill King of West Mineral.
Mary had nine grandkids: Kayla (Ben) Rehmert, Daniel (Amber)Lawrence, Samantha (Ray) Jackson, Jesika Lawrence, Jeremy Lawrence, Jarrett (Kayli)Lawrence, Casie (Bryant) Wornkey, Zack (Mark Meier) Lawrence and Dakota Lawrence along with seven step grandchildren and numerous great grand kids. Mary had a lot of other kids that she claimed and loved as her own. She was known as “Gran” to many. Mary was a member of the FOE 918 Ladies Auxil
Mary was a member of the FOE 918 Ladies Auxiliary; her kids and Grandkids was her everything. Mary loved cooking for her family along with camping and fishing.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Gary and Eddie Dotson, two sisters Ruby Smith and Patricia Castleberry.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 21, at Bucyrus Cemetery, in Bucyrus. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Derfelt Funeral Home, in Columbus.
