Mary Louise Dill, 95, of Neodesha, formally of Columbus, died 3:05 p.m., Wednesday February 1, 2023, at the Morningstar Care Home following an illness. Born June 8, 1927, in Columbus, Mary was the daughter of Frank J. and Ida M. (Rogers) Sampica. She later attended and graduated Columbus High School.
Mary and Calvin C. Dill were united in marriage August 26, 1945, at Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death May 6, 2003. Mary worked most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked for the Parsons School District as a library aide for 15 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Parsons. She enjoyed square dancing, bike riding, but will be most remembered as a dedicated wife and mother. Mary is survived by children Susan Lower of Neodesha and Cathy Hemmerling of Cripple Creek, Colo.; grandchildren Carri Howard (James), Chanlynn Allen (Kyle), Kirk Hemmerling, and Erin (Andrew) Higgs; five great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus.
