Nancy Jane Johnson 85, of Baxter Springs, died Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility. Born April 14, 1937 in Villa Grove, Ill. Nancy was the daughter of William Pressly and Laura (Williams) Pressly. They preceded her in death. Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband Joe; daughter, Judy Hepner; sisters, Dorothy Chase, Margaret Berman and Betty Shuey; and son-inlaw, Wendell Stamps.
Nancy was united in marriage to Joe Johnson. He precedes her in death. Nancy was a devoted homemaker, loving and caring for her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Riverton. She taught Sunday School early in her life. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, painting, camping and reading her Bible.
Nancy is survived by three daughters, Karen Stamps of Baxter Springs, Linda Smith and Susan Stallings (Steven) both of California. 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Nancy has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Family will host a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 15 at the First Baptist Church, in Riverton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
