Ralph Longpine, Baxter Springs

Ralph Franklin “Frank” Longpine, 58, of Baxter Springs, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in his sleep. Born September 28, 1964 in Kansas City, Mo., Frank was the son of Margaret Viola (Perkins) Longpine and William Longpine. His father preceded him in death.

After Frank graduated from high school with the class of 1983 from Wann High School in Wann, Okla., he went on to study at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Okla. where he received his associates degree. After NEO, he continued his education at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg.

Frank has spent most of his years working in the manufacturing industry at Superior Industries International, Inc. in Pittsburg and most recently at Able Manufacturing & Assembly in Joplin, Mo.

In 1987, Frank met Kimberly Ward at Pittsburg State University. They married in March 1991. Frank and Kim went on to have two children. They later divorced.

In 2009, Frank met his wife, Angelica Valeriano Pedrera online and then in person in Manila, Philippines. They married in July 2011. Frank and Angelica, together, had one son.

Frank enjoyed collecting Rock n Roll music, studying his Bible, collecting coins, and doing auto body work on cars.

Frank is survived by his wife, Angelica Pedrera of San Miguel, Leyte, Philippines; his mother, Margaret Longpine of Weatherford, Texas; two sons, James Mitchell Longpine of Pittsburg and Gabriel Michael Pedrera Longpine of San Miguel, Philippines; a daughter, Amanda Renee Wheeler (Zachary) of Girard; three sisters, Karla Croswhite (Gary) of Kearney, Mo.; Dorothy Thornbrugh (Josh) of Weatherford, Texas and Marjorie Anderson (Casey) of Salem, Oregon and numerous other family and friends. Frank was also expecting his first grandchild, Baby Girl Wheeler, in June.

In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Loretta Longpine; paternal grandparents, James Franklin Longpine and Ethel Marie (Hill) Longpine and maternal grandparents Ralph Albert Perkins and Irma Alta May (Roberts) Perkins.

Celebration of Life will be at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in rural Wann, Okla. May 20, at 12pm.

Cremation services are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Chapel.
