Raymond Eugene Collins, age 77 died at 4:28 am, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Oswego Health and Rehab, following an illness.
Born January 12, 1946 in Parsons, Raymond was the son of Bud and Myrtle (Gross) Collins. He was a lifetime resident of Labette County.
Reymond retired from the Kansas Army Ammunitions Plant in September 1981. He worked there maintaining the roads and grounds. Prior to that, he had worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing and working on arts and crafts.
Raymond was united in marriage to Charlene Kay Vanderpool on May 9, 1968 in Oswego. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, John Collins, Labette City; one daughter, Michelle Collins, Pittsburg, one step-son Robert Vanderpool, Oswego; three sisters, Wilma Jean Davis, Nowata, Okla., Joann Burris, Parsons, and Bonnie Goodnight, Parsons; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Jo Collins, two brothers and three sisters.
He was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home in Oswego for cremation.
