Robin Renae McLean, 54, of Joplin, Mo., died Friday, August 13, 2021 at Mercy of Joplin after a sudden illness.
Born August 31, 1966, in Joplin, Mo., Robin was the daughter of the LeEtta Janice (Hall) Bird and Virgel O. Bird, Sr. of Chetopa. She grew up in Joplin attending Joplin Schools and later worked as a nurse’s aide for local nursing homes. She loved spending time with her family and was known for her baking ability. She always made the rolls and cakes for the family get togethers. She will be greatly missed by her family, and many friends.
In addition to her mother, Robin was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgel O. Bird, Jr., and Christopher Bird.
Robin is survived by her children, Treada Smidt (Jason) of Asbury, Mo., Allan McLean (Kelly), Brandon McLean (Adrian Valentine) and Kasey Collins all of Joplin, Mo.; Life Partner, Robert “Buck” Collins; and 13 grandchildren. Sisters, Autumn Evans of Chetopa and Carolyn Cupp (Jeff) of Sarcoxie, Mo., Chassity Carpenter (Darrell) of Arkansas; brothers, Justin Bird (Theresa De-Boutez), Marty Bird, Kobi Lawson (Billie) all of Chetopa; aunt, Eddie Danley of Carterville, Mo. and great-Aunt, Carolyn “Sue” Cupp of Joplin, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 25 at 10 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Leonard Miller will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
