Ronald G. Barr, 78, of Miami, Okla., died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Global Higher Call Nursing in Quapaw, Okla. Ronald was born May 24, 1943 in Treece, to Melvin and Delma (Klein) Barr. They preceded him in death. Ronald was also preceded in death by his brother Jerry Barr.
He had lived in the Treece, Picher, Okla. and Miami, Okla. area all his life. He served in the Army National Guard.
Ronald had worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Okla. and McCartney in Baxter Springs as a machinist. He was a preacher and evangelist.
Ronald is survived by his wife Opal (Maute) Barr of the home, his son, Ricky Barr (wife Pam) of Springfield, Mo., daughters, Candie McSpadden (husband Denny) of Ketchum, Okla. and Tracy Coach (husband Johnny) of Wyandotte, Okla., brothers, Randy Barr of Lowell, Gary Barr of Miami, Okla. and Bill Barr of Kissimee, Fla., sisters, Sue Madden of Joplin, Mo. and Marilyn Thompson of Miami, Okla. Five grandchildren, Courtney Barr, Kacy Chance, Guthrie McSpadden, Newly McSpadden and Tater Barr McSpadden also survive. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. Reverend Wes Woodcock will officiate.
Interment will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla. with Ricky Barr, Denny McSpadden, Johnny Coach, Tim Swob, Tater McSpadden and Chad Thompson serving as pallbearers.
