Sheila Narcena (McMillian) Reif, 73, of Columbus died Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home.
Born July 28, 1948 in Eureka, Sheila was the daughter of Lewis and Ollie (Scott) McMillian. They preceded her in death. She graduated from Stafford High School in Stafford with the class of 1966.
Sheila was united in marriage to Julius Reif, April 8, 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt. He preceded her in death July 19, 2009.
During her life, Sheila worked various jobs, but is remembered as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 35, in Cherokee. She enjoyed cooking and everything that she made was “Made with Love and Understanding.” Over the years, she enjoyed collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia. “Live, Laugh, Love,” was a phrase that she lived by. Sheila was always the life of the party.
Sheila is survived by two daughters, Lisa Brown of Columbus and Stephanie Taylor (husband Matt) of Forney, Texas; one son Julius “Butch” Reif (wife Mary) Of Girard; four grand daughters, Jaide Beck (husband Alex), Brooke Taylor, and Macy and Carly Reif; two brothers Larry McMillian and Jerry McMillian; along with a host of family, and special friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sheila was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Gulick, two brothers Jack McMillian and William “Bud” McMillian, and her son-in-law Jim Brown.
A private family burial will be held Saturday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Weir. A Celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 29, at St. Rose Parish Hall, 129 N. Kansas Ave, in Columbus. Honorary ‘Paw’Bearers will be Breesey Brown, Frankie and Beano Taylor and Bella, Beau and Ollie Reif. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be made by donating to either Harry Hynes Hospice, or St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are being handled through Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus.
