Shirley Lue Kathleen Bro, 87, of Fairland, Okla., died Friday, February 4, 2022 at Global Fairland Maple Healthcare and Rehab in Fairland, Okla. Born April 1, 1934, in Baxter Springs, Shirley was the daughter of H.K. and Millie (Peters) Robbins. She had lived in Fairland, Okla. most of her life. She attended school and graduated from Baxter Springs High School Class of 1952. She married Charles Fred Bro in Baxter Springs, July 5, 1952. They were married 59 years in 2011 when Charles passed away. They had five children.
Shirley was a talented artist and wrote poetry for her enjoyment. She loved working in the yard and always had many beautiful flowers and plants. She loved cooking and being with family. She was also an avid Oklahoma University Football and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Charles November 29, 2011, her parents, a brother Don Robbins, great grandson Keagan and a nephew Chad Williams. Shirley is survived by her daughter Darcy Kinsey (husband Doyle) of Fairland, Okla.; four sons, Dean Bro (wife Tamra) of Miami, Okla., Pat Bro (wife Kathy) and Mike Bro (wife Tammy) of Fairland, Okla. and Joel Bro (wife Nancy) of Afton, Okla.; sisters, Vickie Williams (husband Bill) of Joplin, Mo., Ann Kline of Miami, Okla. and Dee Dee Fowler (husband Joe) of Adair, Okla. Eleven grandchildren Laney Cook (husband Wes), Kameron Bro (wife Angelique) and Clint Kinsey (wife Roxann) all of Afton, Okla., Zachary Bro and Lindsey Bro, both of Tulsa, Okla., Jeremiah Bro (wife Mackinzie ) of Stillwater, Okla., Jessica Bro of Miami, Okla., Jacole Bro and Callie Bro both of Fairland, Okla., Dacotah Bro (wife Riley) and Lakelan Bro, both of Bluejacket, Okla. Shirley had 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She loved them all.
