Thomas Helm

Thomas E. Helm 50, of Mulberry, died 4:47 a.m. Friday October 29, 2021 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, following an illness.

Born July 5, 1971, in Vinita, Okla., Thomas was the son of Lawrence E. and Carol A. (Ryan) Helm. He was a graduate of Afton High School and later went to the Police Academy.

Thomas and Candace S. Biggs were united in marriage February 14, 1995, in Afton, Okla. She survives at the home.

Thomas worked for Columbus Police Department. He retired in 2015. Thomas was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed playing paintball, shooting firearms and gaming with his grandkids.

In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his children Jeffrey Briggs of Mulberry, Christina O’Banion (husband George) of Arma; and brother Les Helm (wife Teresa) of Indiana. His grandchildren Chloe Briggs, Bella Briggs, Aden Briggs, Chad O’Banion, Ceeli O’Banion, Cauge O’Banion, Creedyn O’Banion and Cali’Dawn O’Banion; and one great-grandchild on the way also survive.
