Twila Brown

Twila Marguerite Brown, 91, of Oswego, died at 10:56 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at The Wildwood Memory Care, in Joplin, Mo. following an illness. Born October 5, 1931, in Hallowell, Twila was the daughter of Ralph and Verna Marguerite (Hensel) Lollar. She was a lifetime resident of Oswego and Hallowell.

Twila had worked at Glenberry Garment Factory in Oswego for several years. She later became a Licensed Mental Health Technician, working at Parsons State Hospital Training Center in Parsons, until her retirement at age 80.

Twila was an active member of First United Methodist Church, of Oswego. She had also been a member of the VFW Auxiliary, in Oswego. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, flower gardening, and attending exercise classes.

Twila and Hobert Junior Brown were united in marriage February 10, 1951. He preceded her in death 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Beverly Huffman.

Twila is survived by her son, Ronnie Brown pf Oswego; one daughter, Patty Brown Meszaros (James), of Miami, Okla.; a brother, Kenneth Lollar, of Pittsburg; two sisters, Ruth Naff,of South Mound and Karen Rion, of Walnut. Seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28 at Derfelt Funeral Home, in Columbus. Steve Cole and Hobie Brown will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
