William Morgan, 87, Pittsburg

William Thomas “Tom” Morgan, 87, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Ascension Via Christie Village. Born in 1934 at Mulberry, Tom was the son of Clayton and Lauretta Morgan. He attended Curranville schools and graduated from College High School in Pittsburg with the class of 1951. Tom served in the Air

Tom served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a medical technician at the United States Air Force Hos pital from 1951-1955. He received the National Defense, Korean Service, United States Service and Good Conduct medals. After the war, Tom lived in Wichita where he worked his entire career at the Cessna Aircraft Company as a foreman for approximately 40 years. Following his retirement from Cessna, Tom settled in Crestline. Tom is remembered by his family as a man who was very opinionated, quick to laugh at jokes, and also fond of sweets.

Tom is survived by his son Ripp Morgan of Derby and daughter Robin McClanahan (husband Jim) of Wichit, brothers Joe Morgan (wife Charlotte) of Riverton, Carney Morgan (wife Betty) of Crestline, and sister Donna Caruthers (husband Dale) of Pittsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A family burial service will be scheduled at a later date at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.
