Calvin Dewayne Treece, 82, of Carl Junction, Mo., died November 16, 2021 at Pittsburg Care and Rehab in Pittsburg. Born January 10, 1939 in Columbus, Calvin was the son of Leslie and Thelma (Leslie) Treece. He had lived in Carl Junction since 2016 moving there from the Grand Lake, Okla. area.

Barbara Dell Elliott Lee, 90, of Kerrville, Texas, died Friday, October 29, 2021. Born August 11, 1931, Barbara was the daughter of Nellie Mae Bowers and James McKinnley Elliott. She spent her childhood in Kansas, the youngest of four children in a happy home.

John Engroff, 85, Columbus

John F Engroff, 85, of Columbus died at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his home following an illness. Born December 31, 1935 in Topeka, John was the son of Joseph and Ann (Rebb) Engroff. They preceded him in death.

Cheryl Williams 74, Galena

Cheryl Yvonne (Buffalo) Williams, 74 of Galena, died at 5:56 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born May 29, 1947, Cheryl was the daughter of Arthur Robinson Buffalo and Pauline (Clarkson) Buffalo. She graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1966.

Hugh Harrigan, Joplin, Mo.

Hugh Edward Harrigan, 68, formerly of Weir, died November 14, 2021 at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Mo. Born in Pittsburg, November 5, 1953, Hugh was the son of Hugh Harrigan and Marjorie (Davis) Harrigan. They preceded him in death.

Mary Rauniker, 80, Pittsburg

Mary Ann Rauniker, 80 of Pittsburg, formerly of McCune, died November 17, 2021 at the Via Christi Village Pittsburg. Mary was born May 18, 1941. She was the daughter of Tony J. and Mary (Trotnic) Rauniker. They preceded her in death.

D.E. Locke, 82, McCune

D.E. “Woody” Locke, 82, of McCune, formerly of Parsons, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Ascension Via Christy Hospital at Pittsburg. Among survivors is his wife, Annita E. Lovett-Locke, of the home.

Malachi Brown

Malachi Abraham Brown, 32 of Baxter Springs, gave the ultimate sacrifice as Lieutenant for the Baxter Springs Fire Department. Malachi was injured while working a house fire October 15. He succumbed to those injuries November 10 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

Patricia Isley

Patricia Ann Isley, 72, of Galena died at 4:45 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Galena Nursing Center, in Galena following an illness. Born October 9, 1949 in Geary, Okla., Patricia was the daughter of Bill and Helen (Yount) Neighbors. She moved to Galena from Oklahoma as a young girl.

Joe Dean Bruce

Joe Dean Bruce, 88, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Welch, Okla., died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, after a short illness. Born May 9, 1933 in Labette County, Joe was the son of Oliver Harry and Adah Lavina (Laizure) Bruce. He attended Cherokee County Community High School.
