Dortha Juanita Floydine (Weaver) Daniel, 88, of Columbus, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born March 27, 1933, Flo was the daughter of Floyd Evert and Ida Armilda (Kirkendoll) Weaver. Flo was united in marriage to Tom Daniel July 10, 1951 in Bentonville, Ark.

Richard D. Karsten, 77, of Baxter Springs, died peacefully at his home Friday, May 7. 2021, after an almost three-year battle with cancer. Born July 23, 1943, in Columbus, Richard was the son of Donald G. and Margaret (Frenk) Karsten. They preceded him in death.

Darrell E. Smokewood, 92, of Weir, died May 7, 2021 at his home. Born December 10, 1928 in Jackson County, Mo., Darrell was the son of Elmer W. and Georgia E. Murphy Smokewood. He had lived in the Weir area since 1930, moving from Independence, Mo.

Robert Eugene DeHart, 71, of Columbus died at 8:55 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at St John’s Medical Center, in Tulsa, Okla. following an illness. Born November 27, 1949 in Columbus Robert was the son of Ray Clytis and Emma Alice (Shultz) DeHart.

Donald Gene Ruttgen, Jr., 62 of Oswego died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Labette Health, in Parsons. Born July 24, 1958 in Parsons, Don was the son of Donald Gene Sr. and Kathryn Lorraine (Hollabaugh) Ruttgen. Don graduated from Labette County High School with the class of 1977.

Donal “Don” Ross, 86 of Weir, died May 6, 2021 among family at the College View Manor in Joplin. Born August 26, 1934, Don was the son of Paul and Maggie (Lucas) Ross. Don was formerly an Engine Conductor at the Parsons Ammunition Plant for approximately 35 years.
